As we continue to grow and serve our community, we are reaching out to you for support to raise $1.2 million to secure a permanent home at 7 Burnley St. for the Blessing Centre. With this building, we can expand our ability to provide meals, food, security, and dignity to those in need.
Together, we are building a house where no one in our community goes hungry.
Why this Campaign Matters:
The Blessing Centre began in Brantford in 1982, rooted in a national soup kitchen initiative. Local residents formed a board to continue feeding the hungry, establishing an independent evangelical organization focused on compassionate action. Initially serving lunches three days a week, the Centre moved to 7 Burnley St. in 2007, becoming a collaborative hub for local churches. This allowed expansion to Saturday lunches and weekly dinners, serving around 2,500 meals annually. In 2020, the COVID-19 crisis prompted a bold response: nightly dinners, 365 days a year. A food rescue team was formed to collect unsellable but usable food, helping reduce costs and support the growing need. Today, over 50,000 meals are served annually, powered by volunteers and community support.

We believe no one in Brantford should go hungry.
The ongoing need for our services is clear, and we cannot continue this vital work alone.
The Blessing Centre’s mission is simple yet profound:
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in…" (Matthew 25:35-40).
